Colwyn Bay 3 Buckley Town 1
Cymru North
Friday 17th January, Llanelian Rd
Attendance 740
There had been a doubt the game may go ahead. For once it wasn’t the weather; rather a water main had ruptured leaving large swathes of Conwy County without water. Sorry no bovril or showers lads. Both sides agreed to go ahead, life without water is an inconvenience, without football down right misery.

The visitors came to The Bay fourth in the league but 17 points behind the Seagulls, who are still standing second to Airbus.
The home side showed why they are second in the table and riding a league unbeaten run since August. Three goals in the first 13 minutes! The first, a through ball driven home by the seagulls top scorer Craig Linfield in the fourth minute. With Jamie Cumming adding to the tally 6 minutes later. Linfield sealed his brace in the 13th minute with an assist from The Bay captain Sam Heart.

The Visitors looks completely rocked back on their heels, bringing on Charlie Urquhart to sure up a rattled defence. Wave upon wave of raids on the Buckley goal were repelled by an excellent performance by Ryan Goldston in goal. Personally I thought his defence were at fault for the early goals.

Asa Hamilton`s Buckley side are well known for their hard battling and tackling tactics. They dug in deep. However, an altercation between The Bucks Adam Smith and Seagulls Cai Owen resulted in Owen sent off and Smith yellow carded. This caused much consternation with the home support.

Despite being down to 10 men the Seagulls came out stronger in the second half; Buckley permanently on the back foot. A solitary consolation goal for Bradley Knight the visitors only highlight in a lacklustre Buckley performance.
The Bay still second in the league as Airbus thumped Bangor 1 – 7 away on the same evening.
