Cymru Premiership,  25/8/25

Llanelian Rd. attendance 1006

Colwyn Bay was smarting after a defeat away at Bala on Friday evening, the seagulls still looking for their first win this season. The visitors, TNS. back to winning ways after the loss in the first game of the season to Briton Ferry.

Michael Wilde, manager of Colwyn Bay, included the two Kargbo brothers in his starting lineup for the first time this season.

There was a great feeling of anticipation amongst the Bay faithful for this game. With over 1000 supporters in the baking sun the teams took the field

From the starting whistle, Bay quickly got in the face of the visitors closing them down, denying them space and cutting out passes. The frustration of the league champions was quite visible as they gave away quite a few early fouls.

The Kargbo brothers were adding some zip to the Colwyn Bay formation, closing down TNS’s attacks, and quickly  turning it into counter attack.  The seagulls definitely had the best of the first half and were the stronger side. The visitors’ frustrations blew up as Craig Harrison, the TNS manager, was sent off for something he said to the referee as they left the pitch at half time.

The seagulls started the second half as they finished the first with counter attacks at the TNS goal. But a goalkeeping error gave the visitors the lead in the 55th minute with Jordan Williams pushing the ball across the line.

Undeterred and roared on by the crowd Colwyn Bay kept attacking and were well rewarded  in the 69th minute with a goal from Aaron Edwards.  The visitors then showed why they have won the league so many times, even if they are the only fully professional team in the Cymru Leagues, They used strength from the bench to push harder as Colwyn Bay sank further into their own half.
