Colwyn Bay Ladies 6 Northop Hall Blues 0

12th Dec , Parc Erias.

North Wales Womans Recreational League

The bay came into the match as favourites with 7 games unbeaten and not conceding a goal in their last 5 matches. The visitors sitting second from bottom had it all to do, especially away from home.

The Bay showed why they are top of the league from the ref’s whistle, with crisp passing movement to attack their opponent’s goal. It took 10 minutes of pressure before a stunning strike from Sian Roberts put the home side 1 – 0 up. 8 minutes later another top drawer goal from JP, Jodie Parry.

Northop put up a good fight but facing the quality of players like Jaide Ang and Hayley “Gibbo” Gibson in midfield they struggled to get the ball.

Ang netted the third in the 32nd minute, well deserved as her goal assists have been vital for the success of this bay side. Up front for the home side is the very capable Anna Jones. Leaving her unmarked in front of goal, will be a team’s downfall. In the 33rd min she escaped her marker and bagged the Bays fourth. Repeating it again 2 minutes later to make it 5 -0.

Northop hall battled hard but it was inevitable that the home side would get their sixth from Laura Roberts.

This was a classy dominant performance from Colwyn Bay, cementing their league top spot. This I a side that work and play for each other.
