Colwyn Bay 2 Briton Ferry Llansawel 2
Cymru Premiership.
30th August 2025; Attendance 688.
The visitors arrived at Llanelian Rd as one of the surprise packages at the early stages of the Cymru Premiership, after they beat TNS on the first day of the season.
In contrast Colwyn Bay are still looking for their first win of the season, with the new look Seagulls squad starting to gel together.

With the final bank holiday of summer over, the weather decided to treat the fans to typical football conditions … warm but very, very wet.
If there’s one fallibility of this Bay side at the moment, it’s a struggle to contain balls coming in from the left. In the seventh minute Kian Jenkins crossed to Thomas Walters and the visitors were one nil up.
Despite their best efforts, the Seagulls struggled to break down a well drilled, disciplined and skilful Ferry side. A lot of play was ending in pass backs to Rhys Williams in the home side’s goal. The rain dampening the enthusiasm of the Colwyn Bay support. Just before the ref had time to whistle for half time though, Nathan Pete followed through on a lovely pass from Sam Hart to make it 1-1 going in at the break.

The second half continued with the Bay looking to try and breakdown the visitors but to no avail as Briton Ferry held solid. The visitors once again took the lead through Thomas Walters in the 68th minute.
Seven minutes later a wave of Bay attacks was rewarded when Jordan Davies equalised.
Both sides then seemed to settle for a draw and the dying minutes were played out in the rain.

There is a growing nervousness amongst the Seagulls’ supporters. When will the first win come?
Special mention to the Ferry supporters who made the long journey up north & brought some quality singing & brilliant Bay Watch outfits. I’m sure there are pictures on their club socials. Well done, top fans.
Our thanks to Paul for another Seagulls episode as they find their footing in the Cymru Prem.
